Frequently asked questions
Will I have enough to eat?
Simple answer: yes!
The quantity (400-450g) and nutritional value of our main dishes (rich in fibre in particular) means that we can satisfy the appetites and needs of as many people as possible!
If you'd like to spice up your meal, and in the interests of a balanced diet, choose a piece of seasonal fruit and a yoghurt (vegetable?).
How are the dishes packaged?
To preserve their organoleptic and nutritional qualities, our dishes are packed in jars. They are then delivered fresh in isothermal cartons. Freshness guaranteed on arrival!
Some dishes may be packed in vacuum bags, in which case this will be indicated on the description sheet.
Don't forget to refrigerate!
What is the shelf life of dishes?
All our jars are pasteurized (in other words, they are cooked at a low temperature for a looooong time), which allows them to benefit from long shelf-life (from several weeks to several months), with no added preservatives.
Magic, isn't it?
So don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy your dishes!

Further instructions will be sent to you in the order confirmation e-mail.
How do you ensure that jars are fit for consumption?
When you receive your jars or just before tasting, you can carry out several tests to make sure that everything is OK:
- when you press the little button in the middle of the lid, it should not collapse;
- the lid should not unscrew easily (a little force is required);
- a small "POP" should be audible when the lid is opened;
- no unpleasant odors escape from the jar on opening;
- visually, no deterioration of the ingredients is detectable.
Once all these tests have been carried out, if you still have any doubts, don't hesitate to contact us at bienbonjour@bienBon.ch !
How to... Open the jars?
Several techniques are available to you:
Raw strength
Do you have an iron fist, or would you just like to take the opportunity to do a little muscle strengthening? So grab the jar in one hand, the lid in the other and... turn both hands in opposite directions!
The costteau (also known as thegrandma's method")
Take a round-tipped, slightly rigid knife, slide it into the gap between the lid and the jar and pry. You should hear a little pop, and that's it!
The shock
A safe work surface (or board)? Great, now's your chance to let off some steam: take the jar in one hand and tap the lid on the worktop. When you hear a "pop", it's all good!
If you've got other techniques up your sleeve, don't hesitate to share them with us!
How do I reheat my meals?
In a saucepan
5-10 minutes over medium heat (add a dash of water if necessary)
Microwave
3 to 5 minutes
(depending on your appliance - pour the ingredients into a suitable dish beforehand)
We also recommend reheating certain dishes in a conventional oven (15 min. at 180°C) or bain-marie (8-10 min.), which will be specified on the label if necessary.
