📘 General questions about ready meals and meal delivery

Which ready-made meals have a long shelf life?

The good news is that not all ready-made meals are created equal... and some are real champions of preservation! Dishes in pasteurized jars, like those we offer, last for several weeks (or even months) in the refrigerator, without preservatives or freezing. They're ideal if you want to have tasty dishes ready to enjoy when you don't have the time or inclination to cook. Frozen meals? Why not, but they take up space, often take a long time to reheat... and frankly, we prefer the "pop" of the jar when you open it!

What's the best ready-made meal to order in Switzerland?

That depends on your tastes, of course... but if you're looking for a tasty, well-balanced dish that's ready in 5 minutes, we've got a few ideas up our sleeve 😉 In Switzerland, more and more gourmets are opting for artisanal dishes prepared in jars, with local ingredients and a real touch of home cooking. With us, every dish is cooked by our chef Julian, then carefully packaged. The best dish? The one you'll want to find in your fridge in the evening!

How can you eat a balanced diet when you don't have the time?

We're all familiar with the scenario: a busy day, no desire to get out the pots and pans... and yet, a desire to eat healthily. The solution? Pre-prepared dishes, designed for nutritional balance, rich in fiber, nutrients and, above all, goodness! That's exactly why we created bienBon: to help you eat well, even when you're short of time. It doesn't have to be complicated to do it right!

Are jarred dishes good for you?

The answer is simple: it depends on what's inside. A homemade jarred dish, prepared with good vegetables, gentle cooking, no preservatives or additives, yes, it's very healthy. It's even a great alternative to industrial dishes. And since we do it all ourselves, in Switzerland, with fresh produce, we can guarantee it!

What exactly is a dish in a jar?

It's a complete dish, cooked with love (and a bit of technique too), then put into a glass jar and pasteurized for optimum preservation. The advantage? All the taste of a home-cooked dish, ready in minutes, with no preservatives or disposable packaging. And for the curious: you can take a look at our selection of dishes in jarsThere's something for everyone!

🍲 Preservation, reheating and a balanced diet

How long do your dishes keep?

Thanks to pasteurization, our dishes can be kept for several months - in the refrigerator. There's no need to freeze them, no need to eat them within a week: you've got good, ready, practical... and time to spare. And best of all, no added preservatives.

How do I reheat a jarred dish?

Do you prefer saucepans, microwaves or ovens? We'll adapt to your style! The easiest way: pour the contents into a saucepan and heat over medium heat. But you can also use the microwave or even the oven for certain dishes. Each label tells you the ideal reheating method, so don't panic. And I promise, you'll never need to get out your kitchen thermometer.

How can I tell if a jar is still fresh?

Good question! A few simple tests to be sure: - Press down on the lid: it should be well domed. - Open gently: if it pops, it's perfect. - Take a look and smell: if everything looks (and smells) good, it's good! Any doubts? Don't hesitate to write to us - we'd rather be safe than sorry.

Are your dishes suitable for a balanced diet?

Yes, that's our starting point. Each dish is designed to fill you up without weighing you down: proteins, fiber, vegetables, little Salt... and lots of taste. We help you eat a variety of foods, without the headache. Because a practical dish can also be good for your health.

What is the Nutri-score?

The Nutri-score is a little logo from A to E that gives you an idea of the nutritional quality of a dish. We display it voluntarily, even if it's not compulsory: it's a way of helping you make informed choices. We tell you more in our full article on the Nutri-score.

Frankly, yes. Our dishes cover all basic nutritional needs, and if you supplement them with fruit, yoghurt or a good loaf of bread, you're perfectly fuelled for the day. And between you and me: eating good, varied food without worrying is already a great deal.
